Why Rohit Sharma isn’t Bowling anymore?

Rohit Sharma is one of the finest batsmen India has ever produced, once upon a time he’s also a good allrounder. back in 2009, when he used to play for Deccan Chargers in the IPL he took his first hat-trick and his hat-trick came against Mumbai Indians, Yes, Exactly the same team that he led to the championship 5 times under his captaincy.

He took the wickets of JP Duminy, Abhishek Nayar and Harbhajan Singh in that Hat-trick. Also, This Hat-trick by Rohit Sharma against Mumbai Indians will forever be remembered in the record books as the first Hat-trick that Mumbai Indians has ever faced in the Indian Premier League.

But the question is why Rohit Sharma isn’t bowling anymore despite having such nice bowling figures under his belt, the answer for this can be traced back to his Finger Injury.

Hitman himself said that he misses bowling and he isn’t bowling because of the injury he faced. “I miss my bowling! Since I injured my finger, I’m unable to grip the ball and I can’t bowl the way I used to. Wankhede’s pitch doesn’t give me a chance to bowl, so I stay away from it,” Rohit Sharma said this during the Star Sports’ Cricket Connected chat show.

Despite, there are also a couple of other reasons that might’ve made him choose not to bowl. it might be because of the increase in the quality of bowlers with cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya coming into a strong presence in International Cricket or maybe he just doesn’t want to strain his batting hand.

However, Rohit himself said that he is happy to bowl in the Test Cricket because of that he can give a break to the bowler in their long spells. “In Tests, I try to bowl because that gives bowlers a break. To help the team, I mentally prepare myself to bowl 10 overs in a Test match,” said Rohit Sharma.
