When Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly saved from nightmare of Match fixing in 1998 Nidahas TROPHY Final


Back in 1990’s India was running through the fixing scandals and Sourav Ganguly has taken the responsibility of the team and led it in the right way and built the behemoth Cricket team which went on to win 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup after his retirement.

Now recalling 1998 Nidahas Trophy when Dada and Sachin Tendulkar saved India from a fixing. 1998 Nidahas Trophy was held in Sri Lanka and the participating three teams included New Zealand, Sri Lanka and India.

The Two Asian teams India and Sri Lanka have been qualified into the finals and before the final match Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly have been reportedly approached by Match Fixing bookies also the Indian Head coach at that time, Anshuman Gaekwad got an call in which a person said him “India will lose in final”

Later Sachin Tendulkar went to Sourav Ganguly room just to say him a shocking news that he heard an Indian Senior player saying India will lose in phone.

Not to let this happen, Sachin Tendulkar & Sourav Ganguly who came has openers didn’t loss their wicket and played upto 44th over and added an massive partnership of 252 runs on the board for the first wicket.

Everyone in the batting lineup leaving Jadeja has floped in the final match after the fall of first wicket. Even Captain Mohammed Azharudin has scored only 5 runs.

At the end India posted a total score of 307 against Sri Lanka and won the match by 6 runs, Ganguly and Sachin saved India from that fixing scandal.
