WATCH: Faf du Plessis performs a blinder to dismiss Joe Root in the Johannesburg Test


It happened on the third day of the fourth Test of the recently concluded England’s tour of South Africa in Johannesburg, South African Captain, Faf Du Plessis has performed a fielding blinder to dismiss England Skipper Joe Root.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, England posted a total of 400 runs by losing all the 10 wickets in the first innings, South Africa ended up scoring 183 runs by losing all 10 wickets in their first innings.

In the second innings of England, it happened when Beuran Hendricks came to bowl the 67th over, on the third ball of that over, because of mistimed shot, Joe Root has hit the ball to Gully, where Faf Du Plessis was fielding.

Faf Du Plessis, who has seen the ball going to his right has performed an excellent dive to take the catch and for his fortune, he had made it to the ball and grabbed a single-handed catch. This made the entire crowd in the stadium to go ballistic.

Joe Root ended up scoring 58 runs off 96 balls, which included 5 fours and a six, with a strike rate of 60.42 in the second innings. Watch that catch of Faf Du Plessis below

However, Faf Du Plessis catch hasn’t helped South Africa to secure a victory, has England won the match with 191 runs and concluded the four-match test series win with 3-1 win.
