WATCH: Dale Steyn picks Jake Weatherald wicket after conceding 20 runs in the same over


Dale Steyn has played his first-ever match of Big Bash League against Adelaide Strikers for Melbourne Stars, this Veteran South African star bowler was welcomed by huge hype around him as expected by the fans.

But in his first match of the BBL itself, this veteran pacer has conceded a good amount of runs because of the Strikers batsman Jake Weatherald at Metricon Stadium.

Dale Steyn has been given the ball to bowl the second over of the first innings and Jake Weatherald who is on strike has hit him for twenty runs by hitting a couple of sixes and a couple of fours by showing no sign of respect to this legendary cricketer in the first 5 deliveries of the over.

Jake Weatherald has put Steyn under pressure in his first over of the BBL itself but Steyn has come up with a gem delivery and dismissed Weatherald on the last ball of the over. Weatherald ended up giving a simple catch to Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell who is fielding at mid-on.

Jake Weatherald ended up by scoring 21 runs of 7 balls which included 2 sixes and 2 fours which have been hit in the over earlier. Although Steyn has come up with great line and length in the other 2 overs that he has bowled in the match and only conceded 9 runs in both those overs combined.

Overall Dale Steyn ended up conceding 29 runs in 3 overs and 1 wicket with a 9.67 economy rate in his first BBL match he has participated. as far as the match is considered Strikers has won the match has Melbourne Stars failed to chase down the target of 175 runs posted on the board.
