It’s been controversial from the last series for allowing opening slot for KL Rahul in test matches and for the ongoing Test series against South Africa, finally, Rohit Sharma is selected for the opening following the continuous poor performance Indian Star Cricketer KL Rahul.
Today, During the first day of the first Test of ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Visakhapatnam, Rohit Sharma scored his maiden Test century as an opening batsman after being sent in to bat at the top of the order for the first time ever.
This innings proved his potential as an opener in Test Cricket, on the first day and first innings of the test Rohit Sharma scored 115 of 174 balls, his innings also included 12 fours and 5 sixes.
on the other side of the crease, his partner Mayank Agarwal who came into the field has an opener with Sharma has supported very well for Rohit Sharma in running between the wickets, Mayank Agarwal scored 84 out of 183 balls and his innings included 2 massive sixes and 11 fours.
at the end of the day, both the openers were still standing at the crease with an opening partnership of 202 runs in 59.1 overs of Day 1.
