Pakistan Cricket Board receives an email about Terror attack


On Friday, August 16, 2019, an anonymous email popped up in the inbox of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Stating Indian Cricket Team is under threat of an imminent attack and Indian Cricket Team is currently in the middle of West Indies tour.

PCB immediately forwarded that email to the International Cricket Council (ICC), in the due process Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) received a copy of that said email within the next 24 hours.

BCCI also confirmed that email contained a threat message “Kill Indian Cricketers”.

on Saturday (17-08-2019), BCCI informed this to Union Home Ministry and also contacted Indian embassy in Antigua, currently, Indian Cricket Team is stationed here to play a test match against West Indies from 22-27 August at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

“We have briefed the home ministry and shared the email. The embassy in Antigua has also been contacted and briefed. The Mumbai police has also been informed and the security of the Indian team in the West Indies has been beefed up.” said BCCI CEO Rahul Johri.

although the people who read the email said Times of India “Email Sounds Bogus”

on the other hand, there is no response from ICC and PCB said “PCB does not comment on Safety and Security issues”
