From the Inaugural season of Indian Premier League that is from 2008, IPL auctions were held in Bengaluru and in Jaipur for once for the last IPL season and for the first time ever we will witness an IPL auction in Kolkata.
With that said, this year auction will not be a Mega Auction has the number of players and key players are not there in the pool but the 2021 IPL auction will be a bigger auction has there will be numerous big and small players.
The auction for the next season of the IPL will be conducted on December 19 this year.
All the IPL franchises have also been informed that they can trade players till November 14. Also, there were reports that Delhi Capitals are expressing interested in pulling Rajasthan Royals captain Ajinkya Rahane and Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin into their squad.
What is the amount of money left with each IPL franchise?
Before this IPL auction, every franchise will be allotted an additional INR three crore in their purse. The exact budget remaining with the franchises are as follows:
Delhi Capitals – INR 8.2 crore
Rajasthan Royals – INR 7.15 crore
Kolkata Knight Riders – INR 6.05 crore
Sunrisers Hyderabad – INR 5.3 crore
Kings XI Punjab – INR 3.7 crore
Chennai Super Kings – INR 3.2 crore
Mumbai Indians – INR 3.05 crore
Royal Challengers Bangalore – INR 1.8 crore
