England’s Pace bowler Saqib Mahmood says he was called ‘terrorist’ after his Indian Visa was declined

Saqib Mahmood is English cricketer who plays for Lancashire County Cricket Club. Saqib is a right-arm fast bowler and bats right-handed.

Recently this fast bowler was selected for England Tour of India in January but his Visa was turned down because of his Pakistani heritage, and he received abuse on social media with the tag ‘Terrorist’.

“All of a sudden I was being called a terrorist and I had not done anything wrong,” Mahmood told the BBC’s Stumped.

“People thought I was plotting something when I was going on a cricket tour. I was getting called not a lot of nice things, hence why I tried to forget about it all.”

However, Saqib Mahmood has been called up to England’s Test and Twenty20 squads for New Zealand in November.
